Meetings bloody meetings

 Everyone likes a good meeting, Short and to the point with everyone getting a chance to say something .
Noone wants noise though and the noisy to dominate, 
and yet the yet to grow up often cause the holdup; The children  or in meeting the ones that have lots to learn can waste our time . So how does a good leader know who to invite , who to quiet down and who to get to correct or answer questions. 
No hope for most meetings of the well intentioned ; so few know so little and talk so much about it


Everyone but the leader hates bad meetings, Bad meetings come about because those who mandate themselves to lead, discretely cutoff the conversation, and insist we listen to them , mostly. ( remember  Tony Jones's (ABC Q and A  fame )famous line "moving on" )

Its paternalism  but no Labor party person ( and maybe no Liberal) has ever admitted it .

Its also often a b nuisance to have a nice meeting.  Bad leaders  is focus on niceness and that is not right because it allows childish ignorance and noise to distract us from the extremely difficult business of  keeping good order , good use of time,  let alone progressing our home/ work home ; away from noise and back to some peace;developing confidence in each other and competence in final decision-making
The only good meeting is one that establishes a higher level of joint competency . The higher level of competency required the less likely most people should be there (switch off you screen saviors !) 

Mere niceness with an audience is time wastingness and annoying to good leaders who have things other than wade through noise from the ignorant and well intentioned , to manage .
Guess where good leaders go ! 
Not many of us who like to achieve things and know how to really get things down want to go to meetings; those meetings .
Democracy is at risk when THE MAJORITY  ( with help of the fear mongering press )  listen to the international panel of self appointed experts on solving the most difficult of problems.   Its either very noisy or gagged using their club hammer  of "the need to be nice and respectful"  ( see Suicidal empathy ) 

Take last week's legislation to have all our Victorian legislation reviewed by another house ( the Aboriginal house ) is dumb .
The perceived need for it is a sign of great domestic unrest and desperation by those broken elements of good will who are using our time to try and fix things, even they have never often fixed them . No fixer has time to waste in the way this new parliament will waste it .  
I must be stupid, but I thought we all lived in one house ,Its very hard to live at all if we try to live in two houses.
